ABOUT THE CHALLENGE
What is ILC 2017?
ILC 2017 is a smartphone photography and videography challenge that gives youths the opportunity to interact with and speak up for the disadvantaged in our community. Participants are invited to take photos and/or videos at the selected MWS centre(s) during our MWS Open House dates, and post their best entries on Instagram to share their perspectives on MWS beneficiaries and staff who work to change their lives for the better.
Who should take part in the Challenge?
The challenge is open to all amateurs between the ages of 13 – 30 years.
Why should I join?
ILC2017 gives you the opportunity to gain and spread awareness of the disadvantaged in our community. You can be a voice for the underprivileged children, distressed families, the socially isolated or the frail elderly with what you have in your hands – a smartphone and an Instagram account. Social awareness is the first step to social change, and you can be part of it!

In your photo/video, you are required to incorporate the challenge theme associated with the MWS centre you visit. E.g. If you visit D’Joy Children’s Centre, use your creativity to express the theme of Hope in your photo/video. More information here about the different Categories.
MWS serves more than 13,000 beneficiaries under our 17 Centres and Programmes. They include disadvantaged children, at-risk youths, families in distress, the socially isolated, and the ill, frail and destitute in the community. Learn more about our causes at www.mws.sg
